Presidential Primary election March 5, absentee ballots available

There is a new process for the Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary election called a semi-open primary, which allows unenrolled voters to participate. How it works:

  • Enrolled Democrats receive a Democratic ballot
  • Enrolled Republicans receive a Republican ballot
  • Unenrolled voters may choose to vote a Democratic OR Republican ballot
  • Enrolled Green Independents CANNOT vote in this primary
  • Enrolled Libertarians CANNOT vote in this primary
  • Enrolled No Labels party voters CANNOT vote in this primary

If you have questions about your party enrollment, please contact the town office. The last day to change your party enrollment and vote in the March 5 primary was Friday, Feb. 16, 2024. You may still change your enrollment at this time, but you will not be able to vote in this election; and you must remain enrolled in your chosen party for three months before changing party again, or unenrolling.

Absentee ballots are available now for this primary. For more information on the election and how to request an absentee ballot, see the Election information page.
